Inugo set to raise the bar with their fourth generation Gate Controller

With a Q4 launch date fast approaching, parking technology leader Inugo is thrilled to announce a range of exciting new features for the fourth generation of their market-leading, contactless Gate Controller.

“While Bluetooth has always been at the heart of Inugo’s offering, we are excited to announce the introduction of License Plate Recognition (LPR) and Near Field Communications (NFC) as multiple means of contactless access methods,” says Ben Martel, CEO. “Expanding the way in which parkers can use Inugo to park is a win for both parkers, operators and Inugo alike.”

Inugo first announced their LPR development program in August and great progress has been made since then. Inugo’s LPR capability will be available as an enhancement to the current Bluetooth access model or as a stand-alone solution. Inugo’s legendary Gate Controller will contain groundbreaking camera technology integrated directly with the companies Bluetooth solution, no external camera required.

In a further groundbreaking move, Inugo has partnered with global payments provider Windcave to introduce an NFC card reader to their Gate Controller also. Integrated NFC will allow the use of dedicated cards, bank-issued credit cards or mobile phones with ApplePay & GooglePay at parking site entrances or exits.

The availability of independent NFC at the gate removes the need for traditional access methods altogether and truly opens up the opportunity to introduce PARCS agnostic, contactless payment for transient and permit parkers.

The first operational prototype for LPR is expected to be released within the next few weeks.
